Students’ Union Elections 2022

Following a low voter turnout in the 2021 MDXSU elections, it became clear that a more engaging marketing approach was necessary for 2022. To address this challenge, my proposal was to create an informative yet entertaining explainer video, aimed at capturing students' attention across multiple digital formats.

Project Scope

The project involved the creation of an animated video that seamlessly blended 2D and 3D graphics, hand-drawn textures, and animated typography.

The video, accompanied by GIFs, posters, and digital screens, was strategically showcased throughout the university and on social media platforms to maximize reach and engagement.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to design content that would resonate with a wide range of university audiences.

By incorporating playful transitions, quirky elements, and sound effects, the video aimed to be both informative and attention-grabbing, making the election process more accessible and engaging for students.

Every Vote Counts

The combination of engaging video content along with marketing promotional assets led to a significant increase in student engagement for the 2022 elections.

The dynamic visuals and strategic distribution across various platforms successfully revitalised interest in the elections, resulting in the highest turnout compared to the previous 3 years in the records of MDXSU elections
